Amy E. Halpert, Esq. is an attorney with Littman Krooks LLP. She focuses her practice on special education advocacy.

In addition to being an attorney, Amy is a certified special education and elementary education teacher, with advanced training in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction, and has taught students with diverse backgrounds and special needs. Amy enjoys combining her extensive legal background with the insights and skills she acquired as a special education educator and a parent navigating the special education system, in order to advocate on behalf of children and families. She works to ensure that each child with special needs receives the services to which he is entitled. Amy has completed special education advocacy coursework through the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, and William & Mary’s Institute of Special Education Advocacy..

Amy graduated with a B.A. from Brown University, and has a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and a Master of Professional Studies in Elementary Education and Special Education from Manhattanville College. Prior to entering the field of education and advocacy, Amy practiced law as a corporate transactional attorney in New York City, and is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.

She resides with her husband, children, and Labrador, a retired service dog from Puppies Behind Bars, in Westport, Connecticut.
