Harriet P. Schleifer, an attorney with over 20 years of experience in special education advocacy, has joined Littman Krooks. She is also an authority on disciplinary issues relating to both typically developing children and students with special needs.

Harriet was previously affiliated with Bower and Gardner, in New York City. She also served as a board member, educational advocate and member of the pro bono panel of Student Advocacy, Inc. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.

Harriet is a past vice president of the Family Support Services Consumer Council of the Westchester Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO), past chair of the Special Education Committee of the Chappaqua PTA, vice president of the Westchester Jewish Conference, and a member of the Board of Governors of American Jewish Committee.

She received a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, two graduate degrees in education from the University of Virginia, and an undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
